I'm an artist in central Virginia.
My preferred medium is oil on canvas (soft realism), although
I also enjoy dabbling in surrealism on occasion, and other
mediums such as charcoal, pen and ink and pastels.
I love painting local historical sites and landmarks, as well as the English
countryside and Scottish Lochs. I enjoy traveling to different places
and photographing anything that catches my eye for creative inspiration
on my canvasses.
Murals and
Decorative Painting
I have expanded my fine art from the canvas to the wall. I am now painting
murals in any theme, style or size. I
have created one of a kind art on the walls of residences, schools,
libraries, fitness centers and doctor's offices, this is in addition
to custom paintings. I also paint (both antiquing and scenes)
on furniture, cabinetry, decorating accessories and clothing. My
children's murals are done in water based paints that can be easily
painted over when the child outgrows the decor. The cost is reasonable
and varies per job.

The Hidden Cardinal
In my gallery, visitors have fun finding the hidden cardinal
in each painting. It is the Virginia state bird, my namesake,
and my special signature. When I tuck the little cardinal away
in the painting, it is a symbol that the painting is finished
and ready for that last special touch.
